Straps
Fitting, length, and spring-bar work for everyday watches — measured at the counter on Søndergade.
Strap work is the largest share of what Fierce Nowhere Watch Desk handles each week. People arrive with cracked leather, stretched nylon, or a metal bracelet that digs into the wrist after a gym change. We measure lug width first, confirm the spring-bar style, and only then talk materials. A correct millimetre fit matters more than a fashionable colour you cannot seat without bending the lugs.
Leather straps cover the office watches we see most often: smooth calf for dress pieces, lightly textured bands when you want grip without looking sporty. We trim holes when the pre-punched row misses your wrist, and we seat bars with proper tools so the case does not take a scratch from a kitchen fork improvisation at home.
Nylon and fabric straps suit Aarhus weather that swings between dry cold and damp cycling days. Pass-through designs let you fine-tune length without waiting for a punch set. Rubber and hybrid straps land between formal and field — useful when leather feels too stiff for daily commute wear. If a strap needs ordering, we note the size, brand preference if you have one, and a pickup window that fits our weekday hours.
Simple metal bracelets can often lose or gain a link when pins are accessible and the end links are not welded oddities. We will refuse a bracelet that needs specialised proprietary tools we do not keep — better an honest no than a damaged clasp. Bring the watch on your wrist if you can; seeing how it sits while you talk helps us aim the length correctly the first time.
